I guess im the first to write a review for this movie and all i can say is “stay away!”
couldnt advise you to stay away from this film anymore, if you want to be bored by an uninteresting and predictable movie with uninteresting characters than go right ahead.
they have a solid cast here, i just dont feel interested in any of their characters at all.
If you like a slowburn that’s easy to watch, check it out. You’ll figure out the ending all on your own, it’s easy work, but I had fun watching it. It wasn’t great, but it didn’t suck.
Not what i was expecting. Judging from the plot summary, i thought i was going to see a decent thriller, but what the film was, is more of a drama with thriller moments. The plot, i think could have been alot stronger if it was given more time in the writing process, as many times during the film you fell like your watching two totally different movies at the same time. A few scenes had some unexpected “jump” moments, that literally made me jump in my seat. The moderate pacing in the film, made it easy to follow, but still not giving too much away with what was about to happen. Never once did i actually know what was going to happening in the following moment’s which made the movie, even more enjoyable. The “shock” ending, i didn’t see coming either.
The plot was very up and down, and sketchy. It was like it jumped from the actual storyline to some romance story that was misplaced into the film. The dialogue was very intriguinly smart. Many scenes the main character Claire would say something unexpectedly, and the whole films plot really shone through to a decent movie, apart from the split-genre vibe i got.
The acting was really well done, and believable. “Anne Hathaway” stars as therapist “Claire” and really commit’s to the role, making it seem it was born for her. She shows little expressions in the film, which is just what her character needed to really replicate what she was supposed to be in the script. “Patrick Wilson” stars as Eric, the passenger Claire forms a relationship with. The character was very mysterious, giving off a vibe, he was somehow involved with the whole thing. “Wilson” effort in the role was well done.
Overall “Passengers” is a decent, intriguing watch, perfect for a lazy afternoon. My rating is 3/5
Actually a moving, thoughtful film.
Not bad of a movie.
I found myself thinking “Why am I watching this??” several times throughout this film.Interesting at first, then boring, then contrived. Bleh.
Movies crap, the screenplay is so poor its beyond all words. It just doesn’t make sense from beginning to the end. The ending just felt like the writer has been watching “the sixth sense” and had said “oh ok i’ll have that”
Anne Hathaway gives this dry poor awful performance and makes it impossible to identify with her and just awful. Patrick Wilson i thought did pretty well, Rodrigo Garcias direction, the less said the better.
This movie really surprised me, it was a pretty suspenseful movie that packs an emotional punch. The acting in this movie was good and had characters that had depth to them, it’s a movie that will have you thinking the whole time guessing what’s going to happen, which I kind of saw the twist coming but was still dumbfounded and was very touching and tearjerking. I think this is a extremly underrated film that deserved a wider theaterical release and deseved better credit than what it got. I thought everything about this was great but the only bad thing I could say is that they kind of market this film like it’s a creepy supernatural/thriller which it’s not because it’s much more meaningful and deeper than that and it’s more of a psychological/drama and a good one at that. Overall if you like movies like the recent The Lovely Bones without the visual dazzle than you will definitely like this one. Recommended!
The trailer made it look like some scary supernatural horror flick, but actually, “Passengers” is a laughable and deadly boring quasi-drama with weak acting, a lame plot and hardly any memorable or interesting moments.
Rubbish.
