I completely disagree with this websites review the movie was surprisingly good with some strong performances and some really raw and intense moments. I highly reccomend. 8/10

not likely to set the genre on fire, though it is fairly entertaining. it is no masterpiece but it certainly is not as bad as the review suggests.

a disappointment to say the least. This movie started off rocky and never gets off the ground. poor acting, piss poor plot, and a complete lack of understanding why the first movie was a success. I would like to say one positive thing about this film, but I can’t.

kinda boring and dull at the first moments but it really picks up after the 30 minutes and i really thinked it was fun, kinda scary and the ending was really smart but the first one is as twice as better.

Vacancy 2: The first cut is a bad film. It’s just average. There are no intense parts or any terror build up, it’s just mild violence. The first half is really dull and so boring I kept staring at the clock waiting for something to happen. The characters all suck. There’s not a single one you actually care for because their acting skills are awful. The chase scenes are mediocre. They aren’t the best. The only thing that makes me give this film 2 1/2 skulls out of 5 was some of the chase scenes. They were cheesy, but they were actually okay. The film is in no means good, but it’s just average. The film could have been so much better than what it was.

I really liked this movie. I have seen the first one but I dont remember it well but this movie was a straight to video release meaning it is a movie that the mainstream public does not know about so you look at it a little differently then your mainstream releases. This movie was a well made movie in my opinion. You know what my hats off to Stage 6 films and to its parrent company Sony Entertainment. This film was pretty good.

This movie wasn’t that bad at all, I didn’t enjoy as much as the first one, but after watching Boogeyman 3, this movie is a great rebound.

I liked this movie for what it it was. A slice and dice horror movie with some cool gore and some cool chase scenes. It could have been a little better but it still entertained me.

I saw the 3/10 rating, and I was all excited to go on a rant why this movie is actually a pretty good flick, but the users give it a 7/10, so… my job is already done, I guess. Some very, very good acting and some intense, brutal moments. I’m not sure if I liked this better than the first one, but it is very close for me. A surprisingly good sequel.

I was really excited for this movie when it first came out but didnt get to watching it for awhile. First of all the first 20 minutes of the movie were boring until the main characters were introduced and you do actually care for the characters. had some moments from the first one but they weren’t as intense…but as soon as the killing started tghe movie became really intense…it was bloodier than the first one and way more brutal and hard to look at than in the first one. the acting was actually pretty good but the ending was confusing… besides the confusing ending this movie was really good…should have been allowed to go to theatres.

To hell with prequels of movies that sucked anyway.

Not a BAD movie… but not a good one, either. I watched it, and it actually kept my interest, but something was missing…

I like it nearly as much as the first.Which was a shock for a straight to dvd! It had loads of suspense and the prequel deal worked and I love some Agnes Bruckner. She is always good especially in horror.Enjoyable for a thriller today. If you like the first one then yeah u will like this one.

This was a pretty good movie. I’ve never seen the first one,so it made this prequel all the better. It had plenty of suspense and a good story.

I’m not sure how descent low-budget fare like Vacancy 2 get trashed on this site, but some of the most god awful flicks to ever grace the silver screen (see: Dead Clowns or Automaton Transfusion) get rave reviews? On well, guess everyone has a right to their opinions. Vacancy 2 is not a great movie, but considering it was shot in 19 days on a shoestring budget, it makes it’s mark. Descent performances, and some nice suspense peppered throughout. I read both the original Vacancy script and this prequel, both written by Mark L. Smith, and I can honestly say, if you saw how terrible and cliche the writing was, you would be in awe of what the two directors did with it.

Took away basically everything that made the first film suspenseful, which was shocking, as it’s from the same writer of the first. The killers and their backstory was pathetic and lame, and they were completely unscary. I didn’t root for any of the characters, and at times – it looked like something from Youtube. Lame prequel.

Whoa, it’s that black kid I’ve seen on random tv shows throughout my adolescence! Good old Figure It Out. I miss that show.

Oh, the review, yes yes yes.

    Um… it sucked.

The death under the deck was kinda cool, even if you knew it was coming about 3 minutes before it actually happened.

An heart pounding prequel that is just as creepy and disturbing as its predecessor. I thought this one was more fast paced with more action and sometimes it surpasses the original but to me they are equal. The filming was haunting and gave the feel of dread throughout and the acting wasn’t half bad for a direct to dvd horror flick. Though I’m glad they came out with another Vacancy and I though it was pretty solid, I still hope they are coming out with a pure sequel to the first one because this was just a prequel but a good one at that. Overall if you enjoyed the first Vacancy you’ll definitely enjoy this terrifying prequel. Recommended! Watch with the lights off!

a good movie….reminded me of a mix between “Wolf Creek” and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning”

I liked the first more than this. It was fresh, but this is basically a copy, but at the begining of the “terror”. It’s the same, simple, boring plot with some added action in there to spice it up. It isn’t anything special, but if you liked the first then go ahead and try this out, it may just be your cup of tea!

    5/10

Not bad ,until the third act where we have a “magical” shotgun that keeps appearing in places it already left and a “jumping” neck wound that moves from its initial resting place in the neck to the face/cheek, then to the other side of the face. Continuity anyone? Low budget, unoriginal, boring characters- but that is the killers. Our heroine, who everyone knows is going to make it as soon as she appears, is excellent in this B-flick and compels us to keep watching. The absurdity of the third act ruins it all, with its frequent errors and ridiculous situations (ie: a locked trailer magically becomes unlocked, a paint can with gasoline in it is in the travel trailer for no reason at all, a lighter that won’t light until the last second, ceilings covered in nails…Well, you can see what I mean). The gore is non-existant, the kills are telegraphed about 3 mins in advance, and the settings are dark and muddy. Only reason to watch are the first hour, showing how the killers got started and the set up. After that prepare for some sneering and head shaking-from the viewers!

Not too many redeemable qualities in this sub-par follow-up to a pretty good flick.

Incompetent killers and a shitty script. Instead of trying to make a quick buck they should have taken their time and churned out a better prequel. The pieces were certainly there. Too bad.

Quite lesser good than the first one, I enjoyed getting to know how it all had started, and loved the fact that this one movie ends right where the next one ( actually the first one – but in a time scale it would be the next)started.

Uhm… Only problem with these movies… anyone ever hear of Motel Hell? This movie reminded me of it. This was like Motel Hell with video cameras and a lack of the 80′s style. I didn’t really like either of these but I do know there are worse movies out there. I even liked Luke Wilson in the first one but… This one didn’t really do anything for me. Just a few bloody moments.

As far as sequels go, I have seen alot worse. This is not as good as the original, but if you enjoyed the first you’ll enjoy this one as well. Its worth watching, I think.
