A very powerful look at the death of innocence and pubescent growth, “Little Red Riding Hood” skewers the fairy tale aspect to set the mood for an unsettling and visually arresting piece. The extras included on the DVD are also top knotch, “Suck-a-Thumb” and “Frog King” also dealing with lust and development under the guise of children’s tales. Highly recommended!
Any film that adapts fairy tales and remains true to the ORIGINAL story deserves to be seen. How I’ve longed to see a fairy tale film not sugar-coated, condensed, or even for that fact, FUCKED UP BEYOND RECOGNITION! God bless David Kaplan for appreciating the original folklore content and realizing that these stories aren’t for today’s children and can be shot beautifully. A must-see for anyone who loves great filmmaking.
This movie looks good and deff deserves a chance. I’ll take the time to watch it. It doesnt look half bad
I’ve only seen the Little Red Riding Hood short with Ricci and it’s stunning. Absolutely beautiful, haunting, and sexy. For that alone, I give this five skulls.
