As a fan of cinematic terror, one of the best things about curating World of Death is the ability to discover some of the freshest horror filmmakers out there. The world is filled with millions of artists and the relative ease of producing a “film” in today’s marketplace is sometimes as simple as pulling your phone out of your pocket and hitting “record”. And I wholeheartedly respect any person who decides to take the time to create a movie. That is the predominant reason for why we created World of Death in the first place. But some people just “get it”. They understand that the presence of production value – the collection of art direction, story, casting, cinematography, lighting, makeup, ad nauseum – can make all the difference in how your movie is received by its audience.
One such filmmaker is Vancouver-based Trev Renney. Trev and his team have put together The Basement, a visually gripping short film that is brooding with atmosphere. And we have the WORLD PREMIERE! This Thursday tune in to World of Death Episode 56 to catch The Basement in all its dark and dismal glory!
To get all you death-seekers prepped for Thursday, our cut man Ben Lewandowski has put together a badass teaser for you all to drool over. Just check out those sexy shots! Trev’s cinematographer deserves an extra bloody high-five!
See all you WOD citizens Thursday! And if you haven’t subscribed to Bloody-Disgusting’s YouTube channel yet, do so at the link below the teaser now!
