First Footage From ‘Victor Crowley’ Brings Down the Axe! [Exclusive]

Last night Dark Sky Films and director Adam Green pulled off an epic coup, revealing they secretly filmed Victor Crowley, the highly anticipated return to the Hatchet franchise that brings horror fav Kane Hodder back as the title character.

Set a decade after the events of the series’ first three films, Victor Crowley reunites Hatchet mainstays Hodder (Friday the 13th 7X’s Jason Voorhees) and Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) for an all-new, horrifying journey into the haunted, blood-drenched bayou.

Bloody Disgusting has a world exclusive first look at the teaser trailer that gives us our first look at Crowley and his blood-covered axe in action. Green, who directed the first two films, has always delivered the bloody goods us horror fans want. This looks to be a vicious and gory blast!

In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.

Victor Crowley’s ensemble cast also features Laura Ortiz (2006’s The Hills Have Eyes), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), and Brian Quinn (truTV’s “Impractical Jokers”).

Victor Crowley will hit select U.S. theaters in October 2017 as part of Dark Sky Films’ “Victor Crowley Road Show”, wherein writer/director Adam Green (and other cast) will travel with and introduce the film at special one-night screening events across America. Internationally, the film is slated to bow at festivals worldwide.

Victor Crowley will receive its International Premiere this Saturday, August 26th at FrightFest in London, England. Adam Green and Kane Hodder will be in attendance for the gala screening. Full road show schedule and additional release information will follow.

How excited are you guys?!

seems like more of the same which is a shame

How is that a shame? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. These movies set out to do one thing: gore and blood. And they do it perfectly.

it became a little tiring seeing the same friday the 13th movie over and over. this would have been the perfect opportunity to change up the formula.

Then don’t watch it simple as

        • Josh Blitzenbrox Myers

Fuck that, I’m fine with the formula. Hatchet movies are like a rollercoaster. You know exactly what you are going to get, so just have fun with it

  • Sean Bradley

Hell yeah! The Hatchet films are all a fun time.

  • Tan Shearer

Meh not as good as Friday the 13th

    • Chase LeValley

Why does it have to be compared to Friday the 13th? This franchise is its own thing.

      • Tan Shearer

Because that is what it’s ripping off. It even mentions Jason Voorhees by name in the first film.

          Second 😉

and friday the 13th took inspiration from halloween and stole ALOT from bay of blood. This series is a throwback. If you don’t get this concept you can go watch your pg-13 paranormal movies.

          • Tan Shearer

There are many differences to Halloween and Friday the 13th though. The only similarity is that there’s kill-count. Jason Voorhees and Victor Crowley are pretty much exactly the same, same backstory, setting, personality, mo, etc. Also Halloween took inspiration from Black Christmas.

          • Luke Knutson

sorry if my last comment sounded rude. You’re right there are tons of similarities with hatchet and friday the 13th. In the 80s every slasher was “ripping off” from another movie and friday is guilty too. Hatchet is ment to be a throwback to movies like friday the 13th. I see similarities and differences in the same context i see that with friday the 13th, halloween black christmas bay of blood. Either way if its entertaining who cares about who “took” what. movies are guilty of that same with music bands too. I get your point tho.

  • Bob Marshall

  • MrX13

What a surprise! Those Hatchet films are really good and the effects were amazing! I am definitely one to watch this new movie of Crowley!

  • J Jett

i hope this will be available on VOD (or wherever) since a theatrical outing will probably impossible for most/many of us.

  • Mike Lawrence
