The Resurrection Sorrow Announce National Tour

Alex Dementia and his band The Resurrection Sorrow are set to hit the road June 11 in support of their Hour Of The Wolf CD and Dementia’s new Greek Vampiric folklore comic Vrykolakas: The Unholy.  The “Unholy Divine Tour Part II: Doom In June Weekend Warpath Style” runs from June 11-26 and the “Unholy Divine Tour Part III: Vrykolakas Tour” launches July 22 and wraps August 1.  Favoring raw emotion over contrived calculation, NYC’s The Resurrection Sorrow crafts songs of anthemic proportions using stone-heavy handed riffing, barbaric percussive destruction and brooding occult-inspired vocals.  The Vrykolakas: The Unholy limited edition comic in high quality stock is now available along with The Resurrection Sorrow’s Hour Of The Wolf CD for only $20 HERE.
Fans in Williamsburg, Brooklyn were treated to a special pre-tour performance May 15 at the Royal Flush Magazine/Midnight Dreams Productions’ release party for Vrykolakas: The Unholy, the first printing in a series based on an original screenplay by Dementia.  Illustrated by Isaac Carey Nejako with cover and design work by Seldon Hunt, Vrykolakas: The Unholy is Dementia’s first foray into the comic book world.  The story follows the journey of a young man trying to redeem his soul in his otherwise  soulless world. The nameless protagonist fights to find his way through a world of corruption, greed and hypocrisy and in the end, finally finds what he’s been searching for.  Photos from the party can be viewed HERE.

The party also celebrated the relaunch of the Royal Flush website: www.RFmag.com.  Publisher/Editor Josh Bernstein notes: “We wanted something that spoke to the scatterbrained, off the map style that we do best. RFmag.com has always delivered the top-notchliest of idiot-centric news, rock n’ roll insight, brainless action films and lowbrow art, and while our current site is great we wanted to make sure that the freshies get up in your face. Plus our crack staff can now hide their spelling errors and grammatical missteps more easily in this blog format. All-in-all, a simple redesign of Rfmag.com is going to ensure the dissemination of our moron agenda to the unassuming public. Just like Royal Flush Magazine, Rfmag.com says; ‘If you like it, we hate it and if we say it’s dumb, it is, but dumb is cool except when it isn’t.’”
In a review of the Royal Flush/Vrykolakas: The Unholy release party, writer Morgan Y. Evans of CrusherMagazine.com said, “Arguably the two best current hard rock bands in New York City at the moment, The Resurrection Sorrow and Panzie kicked out the sleaze and sludge jams along with Bambi Killers and the sleaziest of all sounds of long running underground party heroes Satanicide (Yes, we all want some ‘Pussy and Ice Cream’) on May 15th for Royal Flush Magazine. The event, a major success for Royal Flush (who always throw a great party) was held at Public Assembly. It was a night when many of the youngest and brightest stars in the independent art and music world got together for the sake of art and music and to celebrate the release of scene lurker, and talented musical/comics entrepreneur Alex Dementia’s anticipated Vrykolakas: The Unholy book. The dark comic sold well and the band Dementia fronts (The Resurrection Sorrow, of course) brought the noise with equal punishment, a night that quenched the thirst of many bloodthirsty vampire night owls.”
