While she was smart enough to produce Donnie Darko, I don’t know how I feel about her getting behind the camera for such a big movie. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that actress-turned-helmer Drew Barrymore is among a select group of directors being considered to get behind the camera for The Twilight Saga’s Eclipse, the third film adaptation in the Twilight franchise. Barrymore or her reps wouldn’t comment. While I’m hoping for the best, I can’t say that I don’t feel like this whole franchise is turning into a circus freak show (rumors of Dakota Fanning, the Olsen twins and Madonna joining the cast). The second film, New Moon arrives in theaters November 20th. Barrymore just finished work on her directorial debut, Whip It! starring Ellen Page
