Bryan Singer Official Takes on ‘The Prisoners’

Production Weekly reports that Bryan Singer is officially locked on to direct Mark Wahlberg in Aaron Guzikowski’s thriller The Prisoners. Touted as “one of the hottest scripts in Hollywood”, the project is said to have echoes of The Silence of the Lambs and Seven, along with Mystic River. The story concerns a Boston family-man whose 6-year-old daughter and her best friend are kidnapped and then takes matters into his own hands by in turn kidnapping the man he suspects responsible. Singer directed the classic The Usual Suspects, along with X-Men, X2 and Superman Returns (d-yikes).
