For one night only and for the first time in a decade, The Exorcist will be shown at select theaters nationwide September 30. The screenings will take place less than a week before Warner Home Video’s October 5 release of the film on two-disc Blu-ray. The package will include both the original theatrical and extended director’s cut editions of the film, as well as a new, three-part documentary about the film’s production and legacy, several commentaries, interviews and a 38-page collector’s notebook. September 30 theatergoers will see the extended cut of the film, and will also be treated to some of the bonus features after the film. So basically, you get to watch a DVD projected in a theater.
