First Wave Of ‘Hatchet II’ Theaters Announced!

Published

on

Adam Green’s Hatchet II hits theaters UNRATED on October 1st via AMC theaters, and we got the first wave of confirmed bookings below. By no means is this the final list, so if you don’t see your closest AMC theater listed, call them and demand it! It’s October – the theater owners know people will want to be seeing horror movies, so let your voice be heard! So far 20 states (plus some Canadian locations) are listed, which is already an improvement over the first Hatchet. Florida, for example, didn’t get the 1st one at all – Hatchet II will be playing in at least 8 locations there! And again, this is an UNRATED release – not a single frame of gore has been excised from the film.

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
