Two small news bites broke this morning and are worthy of “noting”. While we already broke the news that Saw creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell will see the release of their latest horror, Insidious (review), in theaters on April 1, it’s now been confirmed that FilmDistrict will open it in 2,500 theaters across the country. Sony Pictures will release on DVD/Blu-ray. In addition, it was announced that a slate of Paramount Pictures titles will be released in IMAX day-and-date with the normal theatrical run. One film is J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 arriving in theaters June 10, 2011. Personally, I’m way over IMAX and think it’s a f*cking rip-off.
