Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism) has signed on to direct 13: Game Of Death, a remake of the original film. I haven’t seen the original yet , but the premise is kind of cool!
“How far would you go to be rich beyond your dreams? A down-on-his luck salesman has lost his job, his car and his girlfriend. When a mysterious cell phone caller offers him $100 million to play a “game show” featuring 13 secret challenges, he is in. The catch? The tests grow increasingly intense and morally questionable, but if he quits he loses everything.”
Per Deadline, “Stamm is currently adapting the screenplay with writing partner David Birke, production/finance company IM Global said today. IM Global CEO Stuart Ford is producing with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik, which is IM Global’s production joint venture with Alliance Films. Kiki Miyake of Little Magic, which brought the project to IM Global, also is producing. Jason Blum and Somsak Techaratanaprasert of the original film’s producer Sahamongkolfilm are executive producing.”
