Get Your Survival Horror Fix Real Cheap With Lone Survivor

March was a busy month for horror fans. We got Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Silent Hill: Downpour and the Silent Hill HD Collection, but there was another survival horror game that was overshadowed by the major releases. This game is Lone Survivor, an arcade title for PC and Mac that blends gorgeous retro-inspired visuals with many of the things we love about the survival horror genre like item conservation, creepy monsters, exploration, and puzzle solving. If Resident Evil and Silent Hill left you a little disappointed this could make your forget all about them. Head past the break for more!

If you’re interested in checking it out you can play the demo on Kongregate, then when you fall madly in love with it feel free to buy it on Steam for $10. I also suggest checking out the game’s soundtrack on Bandcamp, because it’s also pretty amazing. The soundtrack has a weird mix of tracks that feel like they were pulled from a bunch of different places. There’s a little jazz, some indie rock, a dash of electronica, and even a few eerie industrial tracks that sound like they could’ve been created by Akira Yamaoka.

The same guy who made this one also did a demake of Silent Hill 2 called Soundless Mountain II, which is done in the same retro side scrolling style of Lone Survivor.

Thanks for posting this, I’ve been talking everyone’s ear off about this game to get the word out.
