37 years ago on this day – August 14, 1975 – Jim Sharman’s infamous The Rocky Horror Picture Show premiered in London, England.
It continues to hold, and break the record for the longest running film still playing theaters. Do any of you guys still go or is Repo! the new cool?
Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf, the cult classic follows a newly engaged couple who have a breakdown in an isolated area and must pay a call to the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
The film continues its cult craze as audiences still line up for midnight showings across the globe and interact with the film by throwing rice, singing and acting out scenes in front of the screen. The soundtrack features classics including “Science Fiction/Double Feature,” “Time Warp,” and Metloaf’s “Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul”.
