In a new interview with the Chicago Tribune, shock rocker-turned-director Rob Zombie revealed that he doesn’t want his next film to be horror. “If you go down that road too far, it’s hard to break out of it,” said Zombie backstage at the Aragon Ballroom before his Sunday show. “I don’t want to get stuck with anything. I want the freedom to do what I want to do.” One of his passion projects has been the long-gestured Tyrannosaurus Rex, a screenplay written by Zombie that the Weinstein Company used as collateral to get him to direct Halloween II. Hopefully a studio will get behind the action-thriller so Zombie can bring it to life. Word is that the script is quite entertaining.
