Filming Begins On ‘Curse of Chucky’! Full Cast, Synopsis Revealed!!

Childs Play

Bloody Disgusting is excited to report that the sixth installment of the frightening Child’s Play franchise, Curse of Chucky, has officially begun principal photography in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada! The franchise comes full circle as Toyland’s most gruesome serial killer returns in a horrifying all-new movie from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Curse of Chucky stars Fiona Dourif (The Master, “True Blood,” “Deadwood”), A Martinez (“Longmire,” “General Hospital”), Danielle Bisutti (Get Smart, “CSI: Miami”) and Brennan Elliott (Flight 93, Double Jeopardy). Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings, Dune) once again returns to provide the voice of Chucky, the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who returns to settle some unfinished business.

Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

The film is directed by Don Mancini, the Child’s Play franchise creator who has written or co-written each of the previous movies and was the director of Seed of Chucky.

An integral part of the Child’s Play franchise from inception, David Kirschner (An American Tail, Hocus Pocus, Bride of Chucky) produces from a screenplay by Mancini. The film’s top-flight production team includes special-effects wizard Tony Gardner (Zombieland, Seed of Chucky), production designer Craig Sandells (Mother’s Day) and costume designer Patricia J. Henderson (ATM).

Since his introduction to audiences in ‘Child’s Play’ almost a quarter-century ago, Chucky has haunted the nightmares of a generation of moviegoers,” said Glenn Ross, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Universal 1440 Entertainment. “Returning to his roots in one of the most provocative horror franchises, this new sequel will shock longtime fans of the series and newcomers alike.

The Chuckster is back, how excited are ya’?!

Nice! But, for what i heard, it’s suppose to follow Child’s Play 3…but at the end of the third, Chucky is in pieces and at the beginning of Bride, Tiff find the pieces…so is this a new timeline or Chucky gonna rebuilt himself by magic and finish in pieces again at the end???

  • Jadama

I really thought they would go back to the roots and give the franchise more of a scare than a laugh. Another sequell? Okay… I was really looking forward to seeing Tom Holland and Don Mancini remaking it, to polish the name. Instead of milking it…

they are going back to the roots of it,they are making it more scary and a lot less funny in this one also ull get your wish they are rebooting it after this one, they said going to make it darker and scarier than the 1st one

My interest had dropped since they announced it would be a direct-to-video, and it’s named “Curse of Chucky”. Everything just seem weak and indeed lame. I was actually hoping for a theatrical remake. =(

Sounds like it’ll be more like the first 3, where Chucky is a serial killer no one believes in, instead of the main character making self aware jokes and being more campy. Sounds awesome so far. Excited.

  • PostAbortionSlutFuck

Fuck yes! The first three Childs Play movies always scared the fuck out of me when I was a wee lad. I’m glad they are going back to horror for this one instead of comedy like the last two.

I’m pumped. Didn’t I read that it was supposed to come out next month? I guess that’s not the case. Anyone know a release date?

Also, if you’re a Halloween fan – check out a petition I started to help bring Michael Myers back properly:

This movie sounds good. I just hope Chucky doesn’t look like crap. Tony Gardner was the designer in Seed, and I felt that Chucky looked horrible in that Movie. They should have brought back Kevin Yagher he designed Chucky in the first four films and his work looked consistant for the most part.

I feel like this is going to be like “The Amazing Spiderman”, a new take on it. But I am so glad to see Chucky come back!

I don’t understand why they don’t make a theatrical remake!Seriously I think Chucky is worth more than just direct to video. It would make money so whats the problem? Don Mancini has no fucking clue how to keep this franchise going its so sad. A darker remake would have been great!
