"Georgia Rule" New York City Premiere - Outside Arrivals

Variety reveals that The Social Network and The Darkest Hour‘s Max Minghella (pictured) is in talks to join Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) in the supernatural fantasy/thriller Horns.

Based on the novel by Joe Hill (Stephen King’s son), Horns is being directed by Alexandre Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, Piranha 3D). Horns has been adapted by Keith Bunin (In Treatment).

Per Variety, “Radcliffe will play Ig Perrish, who awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head. He soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their impulses — an effective tool in his quest to discover the truth about his late girlfriend’s tragic murder.

Minghella is in negotiations to play Lee Tourneau, a compassionate public defender with a hidden dark side.

Shooting is slated to begin this fall. Pic will be financed by Red Granite Pictures. Red Granite will co-produce the film with Mandalay Pictures. Producers are Red Granite’s Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland, Mandalay Pictures president Cathy Schulman and Adam Stone. Joe Hill and Red Granite’s Joe Gatta are executive producers.

Love Aja but not sold yet on this concept. It sounds abit cheesy but we will wait and see wjat aja dies with the material.

So Aja is doing something other than remaking something? That’s new.

Read the book a couple of weeks back… loved it. Reeeeeally don’t like the idea of Harry Potter as Ig though. He’s not the best actor :/ the lead in this needs to show a better range of emotions *sigh*

The concept’s interesting, plus Aja then I’ll def look forward to this.

Minghella is one those “in the right place at the right time” actors, so maybe he’ll strike gold for a third time. Yeah, The Darkest Hour was pretty mediocre, but The Social Network and The Ides Of March were both great films.

Anyway, the premise sounds decent enough, but I’m still trying to forget The Woman In Black, so I’ll have to think about this.

this storyline/premise sounds very refreshing to me. it sounds original or at least original-ish! i’m not a fan nor hater of Radcliffe’s but i LOVE Aja (he’s one of my all time faves), so i’m definitely looking forward to this!!
