Bryan Fuller, the man behind both NBC’s gruesome mid-season drama and the 2004 Fox cult hit “Wonderfalls,” announced Thursday via Twitter that Chelan Simmons would bring her chirpy ‘falls character — Gretchen Speck-Horowitz — to his new project “Hannibal,” TVLine discovered.

THRILLED to be working again with @ChelanLSimmons and TICKLED her character is crossing over to #Hannibal,” the writer and executive producer tweeted, along with a photo of Simmons, who also starred in Magnet’s Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

As previously reported, Dhavernas will play the female lead – Dr. Alana “Al” Bloom – in the series based on Thomas Harris’ “Red Dragon” novel.

The project, written and exec-produced by Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller and slated to debut at midseason, centers on the budding relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) – who are re-introduced at the beginning of their budding relationship.
