[Casting Bites] Gillian Anderson Joins “Hannibal”, Peter Fonda For ‘The Harvest’

EW is reporting that Sci-Fi fan-favorite Gillian Anderson, pictured above, of “X-Files” fame is returning to broadcast series television. After a decade she is set to join Bryan Fuller’s NBC serial-killer thriller “Hannibal”. And perhaps the best part is the role she’s playing… In a multi-episode arc, Anderson is going to play murderous psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter’s (Mads Mikkelsen) own therapist!

In other brief casting news, Peter Fonda, pictured below, will be joining Samantha Morton and Michael Shannon in The Harvest, reports Deadline. The Oscar-nominated actor will play the grandfather of the teenage girl who moves in next door to the characters played by Shannon and Morton in the John McNaughton-directed indie thriller. Their sick son Andy (Charlie Tahan) lives a life tightly controlled by his parents but a relationship with new neighbor Maryann (Natasha Cole) rips that control apart. Leslie Lyles plays Maryann’s grandmother and Fonda’s onscreen spouse in The Harvest.
