Watch The Opening Scene From ‘Maniac,’ Bloody Disgusting’s #1 Horror Movie Of The Year!!
Via various French press outlets comes the opening 6 minutes of Franck Khalfoun’s Maniac, which was named my #1 horror film of 2012.
In the film reviewed here, “Elijah Wood plays the role of a serial killer who works at a shop that sells antique mannequins. He finds victims on the Internet and stalks them like prey, all the while suffering from hallucinations that throw him back into the past, when he was abused by his own mother. In his twisted mind, he gains a measure of revenge against his mother with each kill.”
IFC is set to release the remake of William Lustig’s classic 1980 slasher.

ARGGGHHHH!! i’m so tempted to watch this but i will wait! i definitely plan on seeing this but i want to see it with “fresh eyes” so to speak. i can’t wait!
I gave in and watched it

AARON DON’T TELL ME YOU WATCHED IT!!! IT’S GOING TO TEMPT ME TO WATCH IT!!!! (joking! LOL). i really want to watch it but i’m going to wait….i think! LOL. how’s the musical score in it thus far?
The score is great here, I kinda reminds me of an eerier version of the music from DRIVE haha.
Aaron, that sounds awesome! it’s funny, i literally was just re-watching DRIVE last night! awesome movie!
Told you not to scream, bitch! I can’t wait for this to get released. I love the look of the original and I like that this one looks gritty and grimy too.
That was awesome, I can’t wait to see the rest!
Wow. Can’t wait to do a double feature… maniac, maniac.
It can cut you like a knife
If the gift becomes the fire
All the while you’re stuck between
What’s will and what will be
She’s a maniac, maniac at your door
And she’s dancing like she never danced before
She’s a maniac, maniac at your door
And she’s dancing like she never danced before
Patrickx, LOL!
Damn…. that MUSIC!!! The synth score, hell, even the melody, is totally retro(in a good way, of course). I was kinda hesitant at first, but this is looking good. Love everything about this 6 minute preview/intro. I heard those who saw this say it’s probably one, if not, THE greatest horror remake of the past decade or so. Most who say crap like that I’m hesitant to believe, but after watching this, hey, maybe it will be!!!
I knew this film was gonna be good from that first clip/trailer I saw months ago.
Awesome opening, and best “teaser” too. I want to watch the rest immediately!
I’m definitely going to see this
