First Trailer For ‘The Call’ Stuffs You In The Trunk

Halle Berry in TriStar Pictures thriller THE CALL.

Sony TriStar has just released the first trailer from their Halle Berry starring March 15, 2013 slot as The Call (formerly The Hive). The film looks reasonably taught and it’s nice to see Michael Eklund (the serial killer here) in something other than The Divide (still recovering from that one).

In The film, “ When veteran 911 operator, Jordan (Halle Berry), takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted, she realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl’s life.

Abigail Breslin, Justina Machado, Tara Platt, Evie Thompson, David Otunga, Michael Linstroth, Michael Eklund and Morris Chestnut also star in the flick directed by genre fav Brad Anderson (Session 9) and written by Richard D’Ovidio (Thir13en Ghosts) The Call will be released March 15th, 2013. Check back for my set report next week and head inside for a better look at the pic!

It looks decent. They did show the whole movie in the trailer, though, so that kinda takes excitement away.

That looks bad :( A shame really as I love Hally Berry. She is an excellent actress but why on earth she picks movies like this? Why girl despite kidnapped she still has her phone with her? Unfortunately this looks so cliche :(

i’m shocked to say that i think this looks really good.

Cliche or not, it could be fun. I can get past illogical plot points if the final product is entertaining and engaging (I can honestly say I liked CELLULAR regardless of the stupidity)

  • WalkingDeadGuy

It looks like a decent thriller. Halle Berry really needs a hit.

It is nice to see Halle Berry back in some films. Maybe she can find a new hit and get back with the program.

I’ll tell you what. I am sick of seeing shit for “MAMA”. The brainwashing will not work on me anymore, so I am going to skip it and avoid it like a plague.

  • DarrelDreadful

It actually looks better than what I was expecting. I love Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin. Cant wait to check this out.

    …….Okay.

I’ll guess it’ll give it a shot. The Call could be dumb fun. Awfully good, dumb fun, NOT ATM dumb fun. There’s a big difference there! lol.

And fuck, did they have to show 90% of the movie in the trailer?

This actually looks a lot better than I thought. I suppose I thought, Oh Halle Berry in a thriller? It’s going to be baad! But I had to stop the trailer about mid-way through before they show any more of the film! It looks like the type of fun you’d watch when it comes on the TV, like Cellular!

  • K-Dogg

    This years Cellular

Suddenly I’m seeing Michael Eklund everywhere…The Day, The Divide, Fringe and now this.

This looks better than I thought. I like seeing Abigail Breslin in a horror movie. Can’t wait to see a trailer for Final Girl.

  • Taniamarie19

I love Abigail. Wanna see it for her alone.. and the trailer’s pretty good. However, why pay the 10 bucks to see a movie when they just showed me the entire thing?

I find this a bit silly.
