Fatal Frame hasn’t had a serious presence in the states in some time, after the fourth game was released exclusively in Japan with no plans to officially bring it anywhere else. There’s always the video game black market, but you can’t get in without a trench coat and the Matrix was forever ago, so who still owns one of those, am I right? If you’re like me, than you’ve undoubtedly spent the last few years jonesing for the sweet, sweet paranormal horror that could only the Fatal Frame games offered. That’s why I’d very much like to introduce you to DreadOut, an indie horror game that’s currently fighting the good fight on Steam Greenlight. It looks great, and thanks to Indonesian musical artist SARASVATI, it should sound great too. See it in action after the jump.
DreadOut is currently slated for a nebulous Q1 2013 release window. I’m sure if you were to vote for it on Greenlight, that date will become clearer. Just sayin’…
