[TV] Two More Added To “American Horror Story: Coven”

FX’s American Horror Story: Coven has added two Hollywood legends for its third season.

Co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murpy announced via Twitter that Oscar nominee Angela Bassett (Boyz n the Hood, Malcom X, Strange Days), pictured above, and Patti LuPone (Witness, Driving Miss Daisy), below, have joined the Coven.

They star next to Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Gabourey Sidibe with the third season premiering this October.

The new season will revolve around a coven of witches.

WOW!! both are amazing actresses!! i never in a million years would have expected either actress (nor Gabourey Sidibe) to be in this show but i’m happy they all are. this season should be very interesting and Murphy clearly does pick excellent actors.

Completely 100% agree! This season is going to be very interesting to say the least. Just from the casting, Im on the edge of my seat already. Witches are cool and this cast so far I believe are going knock this out of the park.

When Gabourey Sidibe was announced I already renamed the season ‘American Horror Story: Based on the Novel “Push” by Sapphire’.
The addition of these two actresses has got me interested again. This show always surprises me with the fine actors they land!

I know originally they said they’d never do vampires? But now? I kinda hope at some point they tackle vampires and zombies and werewolves, just because I know AHS won’t ever tackle it in a clich’ed way…
