Finally, An Open World Survival Game With DINOSAURS!

DINOSAURS

In The Stomping Land, you can pole-vault over a Stegosaurus.

There really aren’t enough video games with dinosaurs. It’s weird. You’d think there’d be tons of games with dinosaurs — and while we’re at it, vampires — and yet, there really aren’t. Thankfully, there’s an indie developer who’s ready and willing to fill that dinosaur shaped hole in my heart with an open-world survival game where your goal is to, well, survive in a world brimming with dinosaurs. It should come as no surprise that this game looks amazing. Check it out after the break.

The Stomping Land’s Kickstarter campaign ended earlier this month with way more than what they were asking for. Apparently, there are a lot of people who want to ride dinosaurs. Oh, did I not mention that already? Yes, you can ride dinosaurs.

If keeping those greedy goddamned Tyrannosaurs away from your hard-earned meal sounds like fun, you can support The Stomping Land on Steam Greenlight or follow it on Kickstarter.

    Looks pretty stale.

now that you mention it, it is pretty strange there’s not really any dinosaur or vampire games. Turok was pretty popular back in the day. i think that was about killing dinosaurs. and a vampire game is especially surprising given the huge surge of popularity in movies over the last 5 years. i’d love to play one as long as it’s action or horror. i am not a fan of RPGs

    You had me at dinosaurs.

I would definitely love to see more vampire videogames. Maybe an open world, survival horror game based on I Am Legend? Based on the book I mean…not the movie.

  • DethHand

I’m sorry but this looks horrible, it resembles a 1995 PC game. The developers need to re-think this game completely.

It’s not visually impressive because it’s still a prototype, so it’s nowhere near being finished, and the team working on it is very small (around 8 people).

I think it’s shaping up pretty well. Can’t wait to see it with all of the proper dinosaur textures and all that, but the mechanics are coming together nicely, it appears.
