Part of the Television Critics Association’s Summer 2013 Press Tour, NBC announced that they are in early development on a handful of new projects, including an updated retelling of “Rosemary’s Baby” along with “Stephen King’s Tommyknockers.”

“Rosemary’s Baby” is a four-hour updated retelling of the bestselling novel by Ira Levin that was later adapted as a feature film about devil worship and the complex relationship between a young husband and wife. In the new version the couple lives in Paris, where this edge-of-your-seat thriller unfolds. Lionsgate is the production company. Scott Abbott (“Introducing Dorothy Dandridge,” “Winchell”) will serve as writer on “Rosemary’s Baby.” Executive producers are Joshua Maurer, David Stern, Perri Kipperman, and Alix Witlin.

“Stephen King’s Tommyknockers” is based on the renowned author’s chilling 1987 novel about how the residents of a small Maine town deal with what they believe is an alien spacecraft that has landed nearby. Executive producers are Frank Konigsberg and Larry Sanitsky. Emmy Award winner Yves Simoneau (“Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee”) is attached to direct.

‘Terrifier 3’ – Makeup Effects Legend Tom Savini Will Appear in Slasher Sequel

Published

on

Art the Clown is making his return to theaters nationwide with Terrifier 3 on October 11, 2024, and Bloody Disgusting can confirm that a horror legend has joined the slasher sequel.

Makeup effects master Tom Savini will be making an appearance in director Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3, which Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting are bringing to the big screen!

Tom Savini’s work has long been a huge source of inspiration for Leone, whose Terrifier movies are of course loaded with the kind of practical effects-driven brutality that Savini helped pioneer. From the very first arrival of Jason Voorhees on screen in the original Friday the 13th to the splatter effects in horror classics including Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead, Savini is one of the all-time great masters in the world of special makeup effects, elevating the art of horror movie gore and paving the way for all the carnage candy you love in the Terrifier movies.

Savini is of course also no stranger to the world of acting, making memorable appearances in films including Dawn of the Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn, Planet Terror and Machete.

Stay tuned for more on Terrifier 3 in the coming months!
