‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Trailer Reveals Post-Apocalyptic World!

Caesar has arrived, and with him he’s brought the apocalypse…

Twentieth Century Fox has released the first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which opens July 11, 2014.

While the trailer is short, and more of a teaser, it does tease the post-apocalyptic wasteland Earth has become, as well as Caesar’s massive army. It’s hard to judge from the trailer, but this is a pretty great start. I do love the evolving storyline, which is something unique to a sequel. I expect this to be tonally different – as Aliens was to Alien – from Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

In the prequel’s sequel, “A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Cloverfield‘s Matt Reeves directs with Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judy Greer, and Jocko Sims starring.

Is this like half of the official trailer? Lol ended kind of weird and I wanted to see more. Looks awesome!

Trailer doesn’t give much but what it does give has me excited. Tonally, it looks like THE LAST OF US with apes.

Well, at least it showed more than the Interstellar teaser.

For some reason the trailer is slightly truncated here. Don’t miss anything really, but Twitch has it all.

i’m not a big PLANET OF THE APES fan (nor a hater either) but this movie looks pretty good (going by the atmosphere, tone, etc of this short teaser).

  • I thoguht the reamke was decent enough, and this trailer isn’t bad. But I more excited about the cast this time around. Gary Oldman, Judy Greer, & Kerri Russell!

Really , really, REALLY wish Franco was in this.

There was a time when actors were praised for being able to perform their craft totally hidden by prosthetic make up. Andy Serkis has elevated the craft of acting every single time he disappears into the realm of wee dots and green screen.

His eyes tell us what is going on inside the head of the most intelligent primate on the planet, or the biggest (Kong).
