[Sundance ’14] Full ‘Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead’ Trailer Drops A Blood Bomb!

Dead Snow 2

I wasn’t a huge fan of Tommy Wirkola’s Dead Snow, but I’ll be damned if I’m not excited for Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead, which just premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

Check out this brand new English-subbed trailer featuring a literal a bomb of gore. And as a quick update, THR reports that Well Go USA Entertainment as nabbed U.S. rights. Watch for release news as it comes in.

The gruesome Nazi Zombies are back to finish their mission, but our hero is not willing to die. He is gathering his own army to give them a final fight

The film is a sequel to Tommy Wirkola’s Sundance hit Dead Snow, which got him the Hollywood gig Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters.

Vegar Hoel, Stig Frode Henriksen, Martin Starr, Ørjan Gamst, Monica Haas, and Jocelyn DeBoer star.

Here’s the full line-up for Park City at Midnight.

holy….shit…I am ALL IN for this! Love Dead Snow and this just looks like one bad ass epic sequel! damn I’m exited for this!…(in case you couldn’t tell, hahaha)

  • Am I just paranoid, or was that a subliminal (and sarcastic) shot at gun control in the US at the end?

Anyway. I did not like Dead Snow. Unique premise, shitty execution in every way imaginable, IMO. I like this full trailer, though. Could be a lot of fun.

Yes, that was a very obvious shot at gun control. And who cares? It’s a movie not a Constitutional Amendment. Also, hate to be THAT guy, but despite the synopsis (and despite the trailer’s own claim) it is an English trailer, not subbed (nor dubbed), say for one line in German. (Unless “subbed” stands for something other than subtitled, but I can’t think of anything.) The only reason I pointed that out is because I was nervous they went back on their claim to have an English language version. Not that it matters too much to me, but if it is filmed in English it will reach a wider audience and have a better chance of spawning further sequels.

      • Oh, I’m not complaining. Just pointing it out to see if others would notice. I know better than to take a movie about an army of Nazi zombies terrorizing everyone too seriously.

I wring my hands with joy! There is an intestine scene! Wirkola could have easily walked away from horror, so for coming back to Dead Snow, BIG PROPS.

this is gonna make a lot of people very happy.

Am I the only one who feels a little bit sceptical about this trailer? I loved the first one, it had endearing characters and really fun moments, but this one just looks far too goofy for me. The American characters also look really annoying and take away from its Norwegian charm. It’s a shame, because I really do love the first one.

This movie is so full of new edge right. Still laughing from the guy getting thrown upstairs in the house, only to roll down the stairs for the zombie to smash him against the wall… And for anyone else complaining about that last gun control joke, suck it bitch, that’s funny… Seriously, that’s one thing that’s so boring and overly done in zombie films. It’s always, “Shoot them in the head!” Finally we got a fun film where everyone and their mom doesn’t have a gun. Imagine watching the epic movie “The Raid” where it was nothing but guns, especially in the hallway scenes. The movie wouldn’t be what it is today that’s for sure… My rant is now done. Going to get busy on my shrines for Tommy Wirkola and Gareth Evans now. Just hope I don’t burn down the house again. The neighbors always get pissed about that.

Not quite what I was expecting.
