Indie Devs Release ‘Serena’, A “Twisted Love Letter To The Adventure Game Community”

Serena

Over 40 indie developers — and avid fans of the adventure game genre — recently came together for a massive undertaking. The result is the point-and-click indie horror game, Serena, which just released for free on Steam. This game may be the only one of its kind, as it’s the fruit of labor from dozens of developers, including the teams behind Asylum, J.U.L.I.A., Quest for Infamy, and SpaceVenture, among others.

The story follows “A man sits in a distant getaway cabin waiting for his wife Serena. Where is she? Things in the cabin evoke memories, and the husband comes to a disturbing realization.” See it in action after the jump.

If you’d like to play Serena yourself, you can grab it here.

Just played this tonight. Every time I heard the female voice over, I was instantly reminded of Marzipan from Homestar Runner. Pretty cool twist at the end though (and I’m never entering my closet again…ever)
