It looks like Developer Housemarque’s excellent top-down undead shoot ’em up is coming to the PlayStation 4 and they’re calling it the Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition. Of the many similarly themed games we’ve seen over the last few years, this is easily my favorite. It’s dark and gory good fun that can be shared with a friend in co-op, and the meta-game, which pits every country’s kills against each other, provides a little extra incentive to kick ass. Because, ya know, patriotism.
Back in September, the dev teased their next PS4 title, and while I originally assumed it would be a sequel, that assumption has been proven incorrect. This will be a port of the original game, released in 2010, and it will be free to download for PlayStation Plus subscribers in Hong Kong on March 6.
Yeah, Hong Kong. I’ll update when I have details on release dates and pricing for other regions, as well as what that “Apocalypse Edition” bit means.
