Enormous New ‘Godzilla’ Trailer Destroys All!!

In theaters May 16, Warner Bros. Pictures has shared an international trailer for the Gareth Edwards-directed Godzilla, this one rocking even more enormous footage of Godzilla and his foes.

Making his first appearance in 1954 (Gojira) Godzilla is a giant monster that lives in the sea that comes from the ocean to feed on mankind.

The film, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe and Richard T. Jones, is an epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Possibly the last of an ancient species of giant amphibious creatures that evolved at a time when the surface of the Earth was over ten times more radioactive that it is today. Godzilla can convert his radiation stores into a violent, focused exhalation of atomic ray. Rarely seen, but spoken of in ancient Pacific Island myths, “Gojira” was last spotted in 1954, when the U.S. Navy encountered and attempted to kill him with an atomic blast in the Pacific Ocean. Since then, the giant creature has been living in the deep ocean – until a threat to his survival from an ancient foe forces him to reappear.

      No it’s an original monster.

The only thing that makes me question what looks like an awesome movie is the whole “they are hiding it” etc. Its a huge monster stomping through the city etc how can anyone hide it and how can it not be caught on camera in this day an age. Personally im hoping that voice over has nothing to do with the destruction scenes in the trailer.

    Still looks great though.

What i took from it was that it’s a cover up, they are trying to hide their mistakes. Not like playing hide and seek with Godzilla.

Agreed. I saw it as him trying to find proof about the US bombing him originally and not him in present time. Just seems a stupid trailer if they super imposed it over them images. Anyway, im so hyped for this movie.

The question is will this movie be better than Cloverfield? I am not necessarily sure for the simple fact that Godzilla does not look scary at all. The destruction and carnage is scary but the actual monster looks like they dropped the ball. I am a little afraid because they are not really showing Godzilla at all. The head looks very small and if they did not hire great designers for this monster then the movie will fail.

I can’t wait for this to come out. I think it’s going to be the best Godzilla movie since the original back in 1954.
