Jason Voorhees Konfirmed for ‘Mortal Kombat X’

Published

on

Holy. Balls. Dreams do come true. Earlier this month, we reported on the possibility of Jason Voorhees, Spawn and/or the Predator joining Mortal Kombat X. Today, one of them was confirmed. Jason Voorhees will be joining the game as a part of the Kombat Pack, which in addition to Jason, includes two classic characters — Klassic Mortal Kombat Kombatants, if you will — and another character they’re not ready to talk about yet.

But before we get into all that, let’s take a look at Jason.

The pack will be included in the Kollector’s Edition, Limited Edition and Premium Edition, or you can grab it separately for $29.99.

Buying the Kombat Pack will automatically unlock the Samurai Pack, which brings with it character skins for Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana. It will also include early access to future DLC before it’s made available individually.

Mortal Kombat X releases on April 14 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
