“The X-Files” Streaming In HD On Netflix!

I want to believe that every episode will be in HD soon…

There’s huge news spreading across the land that the debut season of FOX’s sci-fi/drama series “The X-Files” is now streaming in HD on Netflix!

The first season featured 24 episodes – although only the first 13 are in HD – and introduced the world to FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, respectively), who investigated cases that might have had paranormal explanations. If ever there was a reason to give the show a shot, it’s this right here.

Mr. Disgusting already exclaimed that the show looks amazing and I’m now raring to binge the series again. I just hope that they update the rest of the seasons sooner rather than later. I’ve captured a few shots to show you just how sharp it now looks. You can see them below.

Earlier this month is was announced that “The X-Files” will return in a 6-episode order from Fox. Could Netflix be prepping a complete upgrade to the entire series? My biggest fear right now is that this is an accidental leak and it’ll be gone by tomorrow morning. This begs the following question: should I stay up all night and binge? What’s Pizza Hut’s number?

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).

Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.

While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.

The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.

Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.

We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
