Detroit-based electronic rock musician Celldweller (a.k.a. Klayton) is gearing up to release Death, the final chapter in his End Of An Empire series and we’ve teamed up with him to bring you an exclusive first listen to “New Elysium”
The song crackles with electric energy, a dangerous and explosive track that assaults the senses. Tightly distorted guitars riff off notes like bullets from a machine gun while Klayton’s vocals range from melodic croons to cyborg metallic growls. As the song screams out “A new kingdom come/A new will be done/Enter into this/New Elysium“, it’s hard not to feel driven to rise up and challenge the day and any obstacle it throws in your path.
Klayton himself writes:
I was messing with my modular synths and ended up with a groove that reminded me of the early psy-trance stuff I loved. “New Elysium” started there and ultimately fused with metal, neuro, house & a few other things. An added benefit of mixing genres is it keeps me from getting bored.
