“Hotel” to Have the Most Disturbing “American Horror Story” Scene Yet!
You may have thought that word of a character wielding a “nasty, conical drillbit dildo” would be the most disturbing scene in the next season of “American Horror Story,” but apparently it’s the most disturbing scene in the shows history!
EW caught up with show creator Ryan Murphy at the TCA where he revealed “American Horror Story: Hotel” would feature “the most disturbing scene we’ve ever done” and it involves “AHS” newbie Max Greenfield, Sarah Paulson’s Sally and, get this, “The Addiction Demon.”
“Hotel’s” new monster looks as if his eyes and mouth were covered in melted wax or skin (pictured), says the site, and he wears a conical metal dildo. “He is a representation of that and what people go through fighting addiction,” explains Murphy. “It’s not done lightly or blithely. I think it’s very powerful and strong.”
Here’s more on the scene from the “Hotel” stars.
Greenfield plays Gabriel, a platinum blonde junkie who checks into the Cortez in the premiere and has a run-in with both Sally and the demon. Let’s just say it is not a gentle love scene. Teases Greenfield, “Ryan gets real pleasure out of how far, I think, he can push it. And when we were doing that stuff, he was happy and he was scared. We all were. And it was a good vibe on set because of that. I think we were like, ‘F— yeah, man. Let’s push this and let’s see how far we can go.”
For Paulson, who has been on all five seasons, it was oddly just another day at work on AHS. “None of it’s crazy to me,” she says. “I walk in and I’m like ‘Hello conical dildo demon person.’ I don’t even think twice. I had two heads last year — I don’t know what you want me to say. Like there’s nothing anybody can do on the show to shock me anymore.”
The full “American Horror Story: Hotel” cast includes Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, and Cheyenne Jackson.
FX has set the premiere for October 7th.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
