‘Resident Evil’ Stuntwoman out of Coma: Details Horrific Injuries

Just over a month ago, we reported that stuntwoman Olivia Jackson (pictured above) was involved in a serious vehicle accident while filming a scene for the upcoming horror action film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Jackson was shooting a scene on a motorcycle and crashed into a mechanical camera arm which malfunctioned. The accident was so traumatic that she was put into an induced coma.

However, Jackson, who is actress Milla Jovovich’s stunt double, is now awake and has made a small statement about the extent of injuries suffered in that terrible event.

Per LifeIsSavage, which claims to be a friend of Jackson’s, a screencap states:

2 weeks in a coma, brain bleed, brain swelling, severed main artery in the neck, crushed & degloved face, several broken ribs, paralyzed arm, shattered scapula, broken clavicle, broken humerus, broken radius & ulna, with an open wound and a 7.5 piece of bone missing, amputated thumb, torn fingers, 5 nerves torn out of the spinal cord…. not my funnest day on set.”

She continued, thanking her husband, her mother, and everyone who sent her their support.

You can read Milla Jovovich’s Facebook post where she calls for support and prayers for Jackson’s recovery.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter picks up after the events of Resident Evil: Retribution, as the Project Alice (Milla Jovovich) is forced to race against time before the villainous Red Queen attempts to destroy the final remnants of humanity.

Retribution left off at our Nationā€™s capitol, with the zombie army attacking the White House.

The cast is also said to include Wentworth Miller as Chris Redfield, Bingbing Li as Ada Wong, Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine, and Johann Urb as Leon Scott Kennedy. This has yet to be confirmed.

Resident Evil: The Last Chapter is slated for release on January 27, 2017.

    • huntermc

      It’s amazing that she survived.

  • zombie84_41

Great news those are some serious injuries. But glad she is alive and made it out of that coma.

  • J Jett

Jesus Christ! i had no idea how extensive her injuries were. i’m really happy she’s out of the induced coma and i wish her best, speediest recovery possible.

  • GunsOfNavarone

Glad she’s made it out, feel really sorry for her. Hope she gets a worthy payout.

  • Hash-Slinging Slasher

    ‘Degloved face’? Brutal.

    • Here’s Johnny

i had to look up what that was, i wish i didnt now.

      • JM Hearns

        Same here!

      • You’re tempting me to look it up.

        • Here’s Johnny

          did you?

          • Thank god no. I’ve been reading some of the descriptions in the comments. Sounds like the stuff that can mentally scar you (for maybe 3 hours).

    • Hitman21

No, her face wasn’t degloved. She doesn’t know the meaning of a degloving injury. She probably means a laceration or avulsion.

      • Uriah Williams

Except it IS a real injury that can happen to your face. A quick Google search proves that.

        • Hitman21

My 3 years of er medicine residency > your Google search.
It takes an incredible amount of unluck and coincidence for a face to be degloved. Move along, non doctor.

          • Uriah Williams

Even by your own admission, it can happen. Sounds like she was pretty fucking unlucky to me.

          • Pat Inthe Hat

She was filming a stunt on a motorcycle at high speed, likely without a helmet, and hit a camera arm. Likely set around head height. I figure the person just come round from the induced coma she was put in to put her back together knows what she’s talking about. I figure that you also lack common decency. As a side note, most ED doctors I’m acquainted with know how to string a grammatical sentence together and would never use the tautology “er medicine residency”. So, “Move along, non doctor.”

          • Jared Ryan

What do erectile disfunction doctors have to do with any of this?

          • I’m not denying your 3 years of ER medical residency. However, remember that she was in a serious accident and was taken to the hospital where she received an enormous amount of treatment. I’d find it very strange if her listing her injuries is not a direct list from the doctors that treated her. So, while she may not have any medical training, the people who are treating her do.

          • Fracassi

Agreed, and I think a malfunctioning camera arm during a stunt is pretty much the epitome of unluck and coincidence.

          • CJ

God you are an insufferable douchebag. Destroy your phone, disconnect everything from the internet, and lock all your doors and windows. Cease all communication with the outside world so no one has to deal with you and your stupid bullshit.

      • Jared Ryan

        You’re a very stupid person.

  • Richter Belmont

She looks so much like Sienna Guillory that I could’ve easily thought she was her stunt double if I didn’t already know that she’s not in the film. Here’s hoping her continuing recovery goes well! Best wishes Olivia!

  • Helder Pinto

They still make Resident Evil movies? Why?

    • Avery

cause the make more money then they lose . . . . that is it.

  • Vader the White

I’m very glad that she is out of that coma and I hope that the remainder of her recovery is speedy and that she will be back to normal soon.

    • Jared Ryan

Back to normal? Yeah, she’ll be better than new soon as they reglove her fucking face on. SMH

      • Avery

No arm . . . spinal injury . . . . yeah her new job is not going to be a stunt double no more

  • Hitman21

A degloved face?! Hmm. I don’t think she knows what a degloving injury is.

    • Dev

I think she knows what she’s talking about you fucking douchebag.

    • Dev

Just to clarify for your ignorance: “A degloving injury is a type of avulsion in which an extensive section of skin is completely torn off the underlying tissue, severing its blood supply. It is named by analogy to the process of removing a glove”.

    • Jared Ryan

You’re a really stupid person, just thought you should know that.

    • Lino Frank Ciaralli

A degloving injury is a type of avulsion in which an extensive section of skin is completely torn off the underlying tissue, severing its blood supply. Any part of your skin can be degloved, it’s not limited to your fingers.

  • EvilDead-Deuce

Don’t google “crushed & degloved face.” Fuck.

  • Some are so mean. She had a long list of life threatening injuries and you are worrying that she may not know the medical term? Talking about being a douche.

  • NightRunner

Really glad she’s OK. All her pain for a shitty RE film šŸ™ Damn you RE!

  • Pat Inthe Hat

Man that’s FUCKED up. I hope she heals up well and does some more excellent stunts.

  • Geno1987

Stunt doubles need more respect in the business. They aren’t just puppets to throw aside.

  • elpinche

Wow, what a bad ass. With all those injuries, I would just die shortly after.

  • Jared Ryan

How in the hell can you even get that fucked up in one accident? Jesus.
