From the marketing to last Wednesday’s “twist”, this season of FX’s “American Horror Story” has been nothing short of a mind-fuck, which is part of the reason for such secrecy. Still, we have no idea what’s ahead, although we’ve speculated that the second half of “My Roanoke Nightmare” will follow the behind-the-scenes crew, headed by actor Cheyenne Jackson.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy spoke to press this morning, where he revealed more info on the twist, while also teasing even more twists, hooks, and an insane tie-in for the forthcoming seventh season.

Beginning this week, “Something happens where half the cast is revealed to be doing something completely different than you’ve seen in the first five [episodes],” Murphy revealed, adding, “You realize what you’ve been watching with some of the characters is not [who] they are. [The actors] had to do a mad scramble to find new voices and accents. It is a big turn. It’s the biggest plot twist we’ve ever done with the show. And there’s a startling announcement in Act 3 that resets the season up until Episode 10.”

A shocking new revelation, which I’m sort of surprised Murphy revealed, is that Lady Gaga’s “Coven”-infused persona is, in fact, the Original Supreme, adding that he plans to bring the character back in a future “AHS” season that will “return to Coven.”

The plot of next season’s “AHS” will not be shrouded in secrecy the way Season 6’s was. “We’re going to announce [the premise] in the spring,” said Murphy. “We’re not doing a secrecy thing, but [next season] does have a big hook behind it.” And, according to Murphy, it involves several “Freak Show” characters.

Another small tid-bit: “AHS” vets Taissa Farmiga and Finn Wittrock will be back later this season in unspecified roles.

‘Alien Hunt’ – It’s an ‘Alien’ and ‘Predator’ Mockbuster Rolled into One! [Trailer]

While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.

This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.

You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!

In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?

“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.

“The formidable squad of alien soldiers will stop at nothing to wipe out the enemy and in an all-out, brutal battle for survival, it’s kill or be killed in Alien Hunt.”

Barron Boedecker (Escape Pod, The Bigfoot Trap), Brent Bentley (The Perfect In-Laws, Haunt Season), Deiondre Teagle (The Visitor, Painted in Blood, Death Ranch), Chelsey Fuller (The Bigfoot Trap, The Silent Natural), Jesse Santoyo (A Nashville Country Christmas, Potter’s Ground), and Adam Pietripaoli (The Bigfoot Trap, The OctoGames) star.
