We all fell in love with a group of monster-hunting kids last year when “Stranger Things” hit Netflix, but perhaps no character became more instantly beloved than Dustin. Played by Gaten Matarazzo, Dustin won over hearts from the moment he appeared on screen, and we can’t wait to see more of him in Season 2 – from what we gather, he’s going to have his own monster pet!
I bring up Gaten Matarazzo cause we were just sent what is easily the most adorable interview we’ve ever come across. At the Monster Mania convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey this past weekend, Matarazzo appeared alongside some of his “Stranger Things” co-stars, and he made some time to sit down for a chat with our new favorite interviewer, Elliott Fullam.
Fullam, the young son of Little Punk People artist Daniela Fullam, talked with Matarazzo about meeting and inspiring people who also have CCD (Cleidocranial Dysplasia, a condition that he was born with), his biggest fear growing up, his favorite bands, what he’d do if he woke up and was in the Upside Down, and much more in the 12-minute chat that’ll warm your heart.
Check it out below.
On a related note, Matarazzo is currently working with the fundraiser CCD Smiles, which provides assistance for dental care and support research to improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals with cleidocranial dysplasia. Check it out and feel free to pitch in.
