Taco Bell is Recreating the Futuristic Restaurant from ‘Demolition Man’ at Comic Con!
As you may recall, Sandra Bullock explains to Sylvester Stallone in 1993’s sci-fi/action film Demolition Man, set in the year 2032, that Taco Bell was the only restaurant to survive the “franchise wars,” meaning that literally every restaurant in the film’s future world is, well, Taco Bell. If you ever wanted to eat at one of those Taco Bells of the future, you may want to plan a trip to Comic Con next month.
At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, specifically from Thursday, July 19 to Saturday, July 21, Taco Bell will be paying tribute to the 25th anniversary of Demolition Man with a limited time pop-up shop dubbed Taco Bell 2032: Demolition Man Experience, a recreation of the futuristic Taco Bell seen in the film!
The press release details…
“After making the biggest debut in Taco Bell history in January, the hugely popular Nacho Fries are back for a summer sequel, returning to menus July 12. To celebrate their return, Taco Bell will honor the 25th Anniversary of Warner Bros. Pictures’ action sci-fi film Demolition Man, and its prediction of a utopian future where “all restaurants are Taco Bell,” with a re-creation of the iconic restaurant from the movie.
Demolition Man, a 1993 Warner Bros. Pictures’ cult-classic in its own right, gained fame for its utopian predictions of 2032 – where Taco Bell was the only restaurant to survive the Franchise Wars. But since the film’s release 25 years ago – one question remains unanswered: how?
Leading up to the July 12 return of Nacho Fries, answers will be revealed with exciting creative in the sequel to Web of Fries I. Culminating with a Demolition Man pop-up and a futuristic and upscale Taco Bell dining experience July 19 – 21 in San Diego just outside the holy-grail of science fiction. More details and sneak peeks into the experience to follow.
Nacho Fries will be available for a limited time a la carte for $1.29 and also served Supreme for $2.49 or BellGrande for $3.49, topped with classic Taco Bell add-ons including beef, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes and sour cream and also in a $5 box with Nacho Fries, a Doritos® Locos Taco, a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito and Medium Drink.”

One of Clive Barker’s Final Convention Appearances Will Be at New Jersey’s Monster Mania in August
We told you earlier this month that horror legend Clive Barker is leaving the convention scene behind to focus entirely on his writing, with various upcoming projects in the works.
A series of final appearances from Barker will begin at Days of the Dead Chicago this month, and we’ve learned Barker will also be coming to Monster Mania in New Jersey.
Clive Barker will be signing at Monster Mania 59 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, which runs from August 2 – August 4, 2024. Stay tuned for more info from the convention.
Barker’s official statement earlier this month explained, “… it’s time to focus entirely on writing. I’m not stopping public events because I’ve lost delight in meeting you all over the years. I’m as passionate as ever about sharing my imagination with readers and moviegoers around the world. In the very room where I’m writing these words, I have the manuscripts for a very large number of projects (Thirty-one of them), some very close to completion, others still telling themselves. There are some wild projects in this collection of works, whether close to finished or done. There are also stories that you all knew I would be finishing.”
“Abarat IV and V are amongst the books at my feet,” he continued. “So is the Third and final book of The Art and the sequel to The Thief of Always. There are also return visits to characters and mythologies you may have thought I would never return to.
“I hope I am still able to surprise you in the decades ahead.”
