The new Evil Dead film will be coming out next Friday and it seems like the entire horror fanbase is on pins and needles awaiting its release. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve seen such hype for a horror release since I began here at Bloody-Disgusting back in late 2009. From the look of it, it’s a film that not only respects the horror fanbase but is a film made for us. Still, having not seen the film, I can only wait with you and hope for the best.

Guitarist Zoltan Bathory (interview) explains, “Through support and awareness, suicide can be prevented. Five Finger Death Punch is promoting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to build awareness that there is support out there for those in need through the Lifeline’s service, and others. This is an important initiative we have taken on to place it on the consciousness of the public that you are not alone when in need.”
The band will also be embarking on the Trespass America tour with Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Pop Evil, Emmure, God Forbid, and Battlecross. One dollar from every ticket sold will be donated to provide for the National Suicide Hotline crisis call centers. Tour dates are below. READ MORE
Battlecross, God Forbid, Emmure, Trivium, Pop Evil, Killswitch Engage, Five Finger Death Punch. That is quite an impressive lineup for the inaugural year of the Trespass America music festival! Sponsored by Metal Hammer magazine, the tour will start in mid July and run through until the end of August, hitting many of the major spots while still stopping by a few of the more “out of the way” destinations.
Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory states, “We will carry the flag into mainstream territory; we will trespass on their turf all across America. The combined power of Metal Hammer and all these bands enable us to make a statement, a really loud one. Heavy music wants its place back in the limelight, so get ready, because we are coming, and we are coming in numbers.”

Since forming 16 years ago, the band have released four records through three different labels, and have shared the road with the likes of Alice in Chains, Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, Diecast, God Forbid, Walls of Jericho, and Poison the Well. Collisions and Castaways, was written and recorded between October 2009 and May 2010. It follows on the heels of last year’s DVD outing, Underneath a Northern Sky, and is the band’s second straight effort to feature guitarist Steve Holt in the producer’s chair and Andy Sneap handling the final mix, Collisions and Castaways sees the band evolving into a three-piece unit following the 2008 departure of bassist Mick Whitney, who left the group to spend more time at home with his wife and children. Drummer Thomas Noonan and frontman Brock Lindow round out 36 CRAZYFISTS’ lineup, with longtime guitar tech Brett “Buzzard” Makowski filling in on bass for the band’s upcoming touring plans.
If you are a fan of the occult, angels, demons, and other Biblical atrocities then the newly launched “ETERNAL DESCENT” just might be your cup o’ tea. The pencils are good, the writing isn’t half bad, and for a new upstart series this one holds some promise. It is also from publisher IDW who have a pretty good history of bringing readers some interesting new monthlies to say the least. Inside you can read the first 6 pages of the second issue and get all the details so that you can draw conclusions for yourself. Read on for the skinny.
God Forbid is back with a vengeance, kicking off the New Year with a bang as they have just replaced Throwdown on the upcoming Five Finger Death Punch North American tour. Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) further states: “This is quite a surprise to announce GOD FORBID’s participation in the Five Finger Death Punch, Shadows Fall and 2 Cents tour. This was a tour we were looking at when it was first being put together, so the fact that we eventually landed it, even though it was a last minute thing, is a stroke of good fortune. We do wish our friends in Throwdown well, and hope whatever happened turns out ok in the end. Big thanks to FFDP for bringing us out! We have become good friends with them over the last couple years, and the fact that they are making this huge gesture is awesome. We go all the way back with our brothers in Shadows Fall to our first tour in 2000, so this will be another trip around the rodeo with some old friends. We’ve never toured with 2 Cents, but know Adair from Manttis and the other guys seem super cool. Combined with the spring tour with Lamb of God and the summer Mayhem Festival, this will be the most successful US touring cycle GF has ever had, so it’s a big reason to be positive in 2010! READ MORE
