Leatherface Arrested For Suspicion Of Animal Cruelty

Actor Andrew Bryniarski (who played the new Leatherface in the 2003 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and its sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and his girlfriend, Jennifer Abram, were arrested Saturday on suspicion of animal cruelty for allegedly hoarding 25 dogs in their Santa Monica mobile home, reports Laist.

The arrest took place Saturday around 10:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Third Street, which is part of SaMo’s Ocean Park neighborhood, adds the City News Service.

Police responded to a neighbor’s complaint of dogs barking and crying in a motor home, and when they arrived, say found the door to the home ajar and “several stacks of dog kennels with multiple dogs in each kennel,” Sgt. Richard Lewis told CNS. Lewis noted that the home reeked of urine.

During the search, Bryniarski and Abram, 34, returned to their home with several more pooches—all of which have been seized by animal welfare officials. Described as Pomeranians, several of the dogs “appeared sick and starving,” officials told the gossip publication. Responding officers were reportedly unable to see whether or not the animals had food or water at the time of the arrest.

Bryniarski has denied all allegations, claiming, “Nobody cares for my dogs better than I do, or finds them better homes. These are lies … and the only thing that smells like piss or maybe sh*t is the story from the Santa Monica Police Department.” The actor also revealed that he and Abrams “bought the RV as a mobile adoption unit about a week ago to find good, forever homes for the majority of the poms, all of which [they] have raised ourselves or rescued.

Both suspects were booked on suspicion of misdemeanor animal cruelty and released, pending court appearances. READ MORE

Gunnar Hansen Dances for Opening of ‘Chainsaw 3D’!

When we originally announced the project last year, we explained that Lionsgate’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (at the time titled Chainsaw 3D) would be a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 slasher Texas Chain Saw Massacre (this is the correct, registered spelling, for the last time).

Gunnar Hansen, who played Leatherface in the original film, was on hand at the Summer Fears in Tatamagouche, NS to present a special showing of Massacre. Cute website Zombies Ate Lauren (take a browse around!) recorded some of the pre-show where Hansen made a HUGE reveal about the opening of 3D, which will slice into theaters October 5, 2012.

[It's a] true sequel to the original ‘Chainsaw,’ ” he told the audience. “The opening of the movie is the last scene of the original movie. So it starts right at the beginning,

He continues, “In fact, they’re using some of the footage of Leatherface – of me – dancing at the beginning. [It's] the opening shot I think.” He also jokes that he’s obviously not playing Leatherface and that it’s not the script he would have written.

John Luessenhop is now filming from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms, with Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehler ALL starring (weeeewwww).

International Sales Art for ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3′

In an extremely obvious case of hit-whoring, inside you’ll find a super tiny Cannes sales poster for Leatherface 3D, which is to be directed by John Luessenhop this coming June in Shreveport, Louisiana.

As previously reported, the film is being sold internationally as Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, although I’m pretty sure that Lionsgate does NOT own the rights to use that name here in the States.

Penned by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco, with the most recent drafts by Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop, the seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. The spin? What would you do if you found out your cousin was Leatherface, and he was now YOURS?

We’ve Got the Insane Plot Crunch for ‘Leatherface 3D’!

Now that John Luessenhop is nearly attached to direct Leatherface 3D, casting is currently underway for a June shoot in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Casting under Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3-D, I’m pretty sure that Lionsgate does NOT own the rights to use that name, therefore we’ll be sticking with the Leatherface 3D moniker, as it was announced.

-As explained to me by an insider.

It should also be noted that whomever lands the lead role of “Heather” will be locked in for multiple sequels, along with the town’s “Sheriff Hooper,” and his trusty sidekicks “Fransworth” and “Deputy Carl Hartman.”

It sounds like they’re going with the same old song and dance instead of truly attempting something original. But I am intrigued by the concept of Heather “owning” Leatherface. Hopefully they don’t drop that angle and turn it into a horror chase film…
