In our second batch of exclusive video interviews, Bloody Disgusting’s Chris Eggertsen sat down with Priest 3D stars Cam Gigandet, Lily Collins and Paul Bettany to talk about the live-action adaptation to the popular ToykoPop comic.

In theaters today from Sony Screen Gems, the post-converted 3-D story “is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.”

The film is an adaptation of a TokyoPop comic book, the story is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.

PRIEST, a post-apocalyptic action thriller, is set in an alternate world — one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.

Arriving in theaters May 13 is hopefully the last film in the “post-converted” 3-D era, Priest 3D, Scott Charles Stewart’s (Legion) live-action adaptation of the popular TokyoPop comic series.
