You guys are creative. Twisted, but creative. The Dead Space 3 DLC contest spawned a lot of hilarious comments. And per usual, a lot of horror movie related jokes. But alas 3 winners have emerged. And they are entitled to a shit load of DLC for their respective consoles. J-SiN wins for the Playstation 3, Joshua Turney for the Xbox 360, and Hitch for the PC. All 3 of you must message me and give me your email addresses. I will then have the PR company email you both sets of DLC codes, remember you get DOUBLE! Head past the break to see the winning submissions, and the list of DLC the winners get. Be jealous. I know I am.
Any one remember that abortion ‘I Know Who Killed Me‘? Well lets hope Murdered doesn’t get as bad of reviews as I Know Who Killed Me did. Though BD gave it a 4/5? Moving on to the real reason we’re here, Square Enix just released the teaser trailer you can see below. All the details are vague and it seems they want to keep it that way for now. All we really know is in the game you are killed, and somehow, probably as a sexy ghost you have to solve your own murder.
The press release urges us to search for clues via Twitter, Facebook, and the Official Website for the game. Murdered: Soul Suspect is looking at an early 2014 release date on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
You’ve probably already heard about Destiny. If you haven’t, it’s Bungie’s newest game since passing on the Halo series to 343 Industries. Bungie is combining forces with Activision this time around who as you know are behind the Call Of Duty series. Bungie made the Halo Universe massive, and they aren’t dialing it back one bit for Destiny. They plan to have a huge social aspect to the game. Where you could be exploring the massive universe in your game and come across other online adventurers in theirs. But it sounds like it will be so much more than what you would experience in an MMO. And it’s loaded with what Bungie is known for. Awesome FPS action. Head past the break for the reveal video, incredible game art, and lots more on the game!
And by that I mean when I watch it I get over come with the feeling of “Coming Soon” perhaps to a theater near me? Video game trailers nowadays are getting more and more kick ass. They’re more professional and feel more and more like they aren’t just video games but movies as well. Past the break you can check out the all new Lamb Of Columbia trailer for BioShock Infinite. The game will finally be arriving a little over a month from now on March 26th for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
It’s all but certain the next PlayStation will be unveiled by Sony on Tuesday. We’ve seen teasers, controller prototypes, and spent some time guessing what the console’s logo will look like, but nothing in the way of actual news will arrive until the 20th, when Sony makes their big reveal(s?) at an event in NYC (at 6pm EST). That isn’t stopping the Internet from spreading rumors like wildfire, and the most recent of these is a report from the Wall Street Journal that says the next PlayStation will stream PS3 games. More after the jump.
I can rhyme, now so can we. The Journey Through Terror video series is going very in depth on the Dead Space series as a whole. The latest video Part 3 in the series focuses on atmosphere, the use of mining tools over conventional weapons, Isaac’s suits, and the importance of stasis and kinesis. Check out the video past the break!
In an interview with Now Gamer Dead Space 1 writer Antony Johnston states that the action in Dead Space 3 is “a necessary evil in order to broaden the fan base.” He goes on to say that was the plan from the start. “I know the developers always wanted to go bigger, in terms of scope. And I’ve mentioned before that the universe we created was huge, with lots of elements, which simply didn’t make it into the first game.” He’s right. People definitely complain about the over the top action in the new Resident Evil, but would have keeping it stuck so small have stunted its growth? I think Visceral Games probably has that fear. But when you create such a big universe in a game series, it’s hard to keep it from growing. Read the full interview/article HERE!
Past Tomb Raider games were somewhat streamlined. There wasn’t much room for extensive exploration apart from the main storyline. In the new Tomb Raider you have a map of the island you’re stuck on and there is a lot more you can explore. In the video past the break ‘Guide To Survival Episode #2′, you will learn all about it. There are a lot more areas to explore, and many you can not progress in unless Lara herself has gotten the right items, weapons, or skills learned to do so. I love this because the Tomb Raider games definitely needed to take a turn in the direction of open exploration. But in case you don’t want to stray too far from your main mission you can easily get right back on track using your map. Check out the video past the break.
Dead Space 3 is out today, so instead of reading this you should be playing it and ignoring me at least until next week. If you didn’t buy it yet, then, oh hai! Welcome! Below you can feel free to take “A Journey Through Terror” Part one of four. A more in depth look into Isaac Clarke’s journey through space. There are some spoilers from the first two games so if you haven’t yet gotten around to them (shame on you) I don’t recommend watching. Enjoy!
If you didn’t go wait out in line at midnight last night with the weirdos that hang out in a Game Stop late, you’ve probably quickly snuck in and out of a Best Buy today to pick up Dead Space 3. If you’re new to the series and this is your first Dead Space experience, I suggest you head past the break and check out “The Story So Far” trailer. It gets you up to date on what some of the history of the games and without major spoilers gives you info on the 1st 2 games. It’s also good if you need an all around refresher like me. Head past the break for info on the 1st DLC, screens, and the trailer.
NetherRealm studios the masterminds behind Mortal Kombat are hard at work on their next game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Straying a bit out of the normal, the game features a very in depth story filled with characters from the DC Comic Universe. It looks as if the game will do what the newest Mortal Kombat did engaging you in a story while sporadically throwing you into Mortal Kombat style one on one (maybe more?) fights. Check out the heart pounding ‘The Line’ trailer below.
Look out for the games release April 19th on the Playstation 3, WiiU, and Xbox 360. Also, was that Bruce Willis in that trailer?
It’s about time we got a real good look at the enemies we would be facing in The Last Of Us. Not the humans, but the creatures. Nothing too out there but still freaky non the less. Head past the break for a whole bunch of screen shots showing off the enemies. The Last Of Us comes out May 7th exclusively on the Playstation 3.
I wasn’t very impressed with the last Dead Space 3 trailer. Just when I think a Dead Space trailer couldn’t possibly be any dumber, they go and do something like this….and totally redeem themselves! (Reference, anyone?!) This new story trailer is kick ass, heart pounding awesomeness. It feels like a movie trailer, and those are my favorite. Check it out past the break and revel in all it’s gory glory.
Not every trailer can be super great. This one sure isn’t. It also features a meh version of Phil Collins classic “In The Air Tonight”. Will that put me off from playing the game? Fuck no. I’m gonna play this game in the dark until I shit my pants. Check out the Take Down The Terror Launch Trailer below, and let me know what you think. February 5th bitches!
One of the best parts about a Dead Space game is getting a good look at the incredibly demented creatures that are going to be destroying you. Ripping you limb from limb, and playing around with your giblets. Every creature is straight from the depths of your nightmares, and they keep getting better and better. If you head past the break you can get an inside look at some of the Necros you’ll be seeing in Dead Space 3 along with descriptions of them. Dead Space 3 is so close I can feel my space madness approaching. February 5th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
It’s nice when just pre ordering a game can get you free shit. Then you don’t have to shell out a million more dollars to get some bonuses. Head past the break for a trailer and the details.
The Dead Space series has always had some kick ass outfits for Isaac. Well let’s just say that Mass Effect 3 and Dead Space 3 have been fooling around behind closed doors. The outcome is the magical N7 Armor for Isaac and Carver in Dead Space 3. How do you get it? Easy. As long as you have yourself a Mass Effect 3 game save, and you purchase yourself some Dead Space 3 and BAM. That easy. Check out the video below to get a look at the suits. February 5th! So close!
If you like sub machine guns and Dead Space, Game Stop is where you want to go to pre order Dead Space 3. I personally hate Game Stop but I won’t let that stop you from getting your hands on the Game Stop exclusive EG-900 SMG. Check out the trailer below to get a taste of the machine gun in action. And don’t forget, Dead Space 3 releases February 5th!
In case you’re wondering if your computer can handle the PC version of BioShock Infinite, you’ve come to the right place. Head past the break for the minimum required, and recommended PC specs. If you haven’t bought either of the 1st 2 BioShocks now would be the best time. The BioShock Ultimate Rapture Edition is now available in the US. Included in the edition is BioShock and BioShock 2 and DLC totaling over $40.00 worth of stuff. And you get it for the low low price of $30.00. Don’t forget to head past the break!
The Dead Space 3 Dev Team Edition is one of the few you can get either with or without the game. It fetches a high price tag either way. With the game you’re looking at $160.00, and without the game you’re looking at $100.00. They don’t skimp on the goodies though. If you head past the break you can check out a video and the list of all the items you get in the Dev Team Edition. And yeah, there’s a lot. Dead Space 3 is coming, February 5th, PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
I did some serious slacking the past 2 years and didn’t post my Best Horror Game articles like I did from 2007-2009. But I’m going to make it all up to you guys now. It’s easy for me to post my favorite horror games of the year, but I’m more curious about what games YOU guys liked the best. So if you head past the break you can look at my hand clicked selections from last year. Choose your favorite from the list, and then we can crown the winner! The poll will go for a couple weeks, or until I decide it has fizzled out! Head past the break to see your choices and to vote!
I’ve been an avid watcher of the Final Hours Of Tomb Raider video series. Tomb Raider is probably the number 1 game I’m looking forward to, so I’m pretty excited for anything I can watch about it. Well in this latest Final Hours video they show you all about the unexpected multiplayer aspect of the new Tomb Raider. There is an entire team at Eidos Montreal dedicated to the multiplayer so you know it isn’t just a tacked on multiplayer. Check it out past the break!
I shouldn’t be picky about a Walking Dead game. But do I feel like it should look better? Yeah a little. I mean we’re talking about Activision. They’ve got that Call Of Duty money. But technically if they can bank off of Call Of Duty without making those graphics as amazing as say Battlefield, then why can’t they do it with this new Walking Dead Survival Instinct? Head past the break for some screens and game features.
With over 150 million sold, Sony’s PlayStation 2 is the most successful home gaming console of all time. It launched on March 4, 2000, and during the twelve years that followed it brought us video games that defined, or redefined, their respective genres. The PS2 also hosted the latter half of the golden era of the survival horror genre (late 90′s – early 00′s), which birthed amazing horror games like Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2, Half-Life, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, Siren, and so much more. For many horror fans, including myself, the PS2 was the console of choice for horror.
Some of my fondest gaming memories came from PS2 games, but like all good things, it’s come to an end. Let’s celebrate the end of such a stellar console by voting on the best horror games that released on it. More after the jump.
