Sony and Rodar Y Rodar Investigate Town’s ‘Scars’

Sony will finance and co-produce alongside Spanish outfit Rodar Y Rodar, which has revealed details of its new slate. US studio Sony has joined Sergi Vizcaino’s new horror project Scars (May ’10) alongside Spanish outfit Rodar Y Rodar, producers of The Orphanage. Scars is based on a script by Daniel Padro and will tell the story of a group of university students who set up camp in an abandoned town to investigate possible paranormal activities. Rodar Y Rodar is currently enjoying success with Guillem Morales’ horror/thriller Julia’s Eyes, starring Belen Rueda, which has so far taken $8m at the Spanish box office through Universal Pictures International and has been sold to more than 40 territories by DeaPlaneta.
