And so another year comes to a close. 2012, just like any other year, you had your gems and you had your flops when it came to album releases. For this article, I’d like to give you my Top 10 albums of 2012 as well as several honorable mentions that didn’t exactly make the cut but were too good to leave unmentioned. Industrial metal band Godflesh released their final album Hymns in 2001. In fact, the song “Jesu” became the name of Justin Broadrick’s next side project. Now, The End Records will be releasing a deluxe remaster of the album that includes a bonus disc with several remastered demos. Japanese rockers Dir en grey are gearing up for the release of their upcoming album, Dum Spero Spero, and have released a new video for the track Different Sense. Warning: this video is DEFINITELY NSFW as it features a ton of anime tentacle porn (albeit censored, but still…) and grotesque imagery that Dir en grey is known for (remember Obscure?).
