“The X-Files” Season 11 Premiere Ended With Secret Reversed Message to the Fans

Published

It took one clever fan to decode the secret message.

Mulder and Scully returned last night for the Season 11 premiere of “The X-Files, titled ‘My Struggle III.’ The episode picked up where Season 10 left off, focused on expanding upon the show’s mythology; primarily the search for William, Mulder and Scully’s son.

Most notably, and without spoiling anything, the episode dropped a big time shocker about the identity of William, who isn’t exactly who we were led to believe he is.

The episode ended with a shot of William, which had what sounded like a distorted voice playing over it. Decoded, the voice relays a secret message to longtime fans of the show.

Reddit user Jordin Goff is the one who decoded the secret message, slowing it down and playing it in reverse. “I’ve heard a lot of reversed dialog recently watching Twin Peaks and it sounded similar so I thought I’d give it a go and see if something turned up,” he notes.

The message, you ask?

If this is the end, it’s been a wild, wild adventure with some of the finest people I know and the greatest fans that we could’ve hoped for. Here’s to you. The truth is out there, 2018.

With Gillian Anderson expressing that her run on the show is over, it’s seeming more and more likely that Season 11 will be the final season of “The X-Files.” We can only assume this was a message from creator Chris Carter to the fans, thanking them for sticking with the show for so many years… as this could indeed be the beginning of the end.

Last week we learned that Steve Buscemi had joined the cast of “Wednesday” Season 2 at Netflix, and Variety lets us know that Thandiwe Newton (“Westworld”) has also signed on.

Jenna Ortega is back as Wednesday Addams in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” with Steve Buscemi playing the new principal of Nevermore Academy.

Jenna Ortega stars in the hit series as Wednesday Addams, with Luis Guzmán playing Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones playing Morticia in Tim Burton’s Netflix series. Christina Ricci also appears in the show, playing a brand new role, with Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

“Wednesday” is described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.” The series follows…

“Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are the writers and showrunners, with Tim Burton executive producing and directing several episodes of the show’s debut season.

We don’t know much about “Wednesday” Season 2 at the moment but Jenna Ortega has promised that the new season will be “bolder” and darker than the first season of the series.

“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror more,” Ortega said last year.
