New ‘Agony’ Trailer Previews the Game’s Survival-Oriented “Agony Mode”
One life. Endless torment.
Madmind Studio and publisher Maximum Games today share details on a new survival-oriented game mode in its upcoming horrific romp through hell, Agony, ahead of its launch later this month on consoles and PC.
The aptly named Agony Mode sets players loose in randomized stages with just one life, placing an emphasis on the stealth and offensive skills learned playing through the game’s story. With an unending variation of demon-filled mazes to navigate, Agony Mode is the ultimate test for surviving the dangers of hell.
“Agony Mode will grant players only one life as they explore procedurally generated, labyrinth-like chambers. These unpredictable mazes made of ice and walls of bone will encourage players to complete quests such as collecting 10 figurines spread throughout a level. Each Agony Mode session ends once a player is killed, and their score will be compared to the success of sinners worldwide via global leaderboards.
Once a labyrinth’s quest objectives are completed and players reach the mysterious Red Chamber, they can earn additional points by braving new stages or returning to a cleared maze to play as one of Agony’s notorious prowling Succubi. Agony Mode is the ultimate test of survival skills players formed while playing through the game’s core campaign, providing the perfect stage for players to showcase everything they’ve learned from pursuing the elusive Red Goddess.”
Agony launches May 29 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Agony features a full-fledged story mode as well as an open challenge system that randomly generates levels for players to explore and survive to gain new high scores. In addition to featuring in countless “Most anticipated Horror Games 2018” lists, the Kickstarter financed title is set to challenge players with its brutal and malevolent environments.
Agony throws players in the midst of hell where they strive to stay alive and solve the riddle behind the mysterious Red Goddess; architect of this place of sorrow and pain, and the sole entity with knowledge of how escape… but there is more to the story than it seems. Haunted by nightmare creatures, players gain the ability to possess demons and other souls to find their way out of hell.

Psychological Survival Horror Title ‘Puppet House’ Announced for Later This Year [Teaser]
Tropes like haunted houses and possessed dolls are a dime a dozen in horror. But darn it, they’re by and large a lot of fun. Developers Vecube Studio and Spirit Games Studio certainly think so, as they’ve teamed with publisher Gaming Factory to bring us both in Puppet House. Slated for release later this year on Steam, this psychological horror title sees you roaming the mansion of a deceased ventriloquist (or is he?) in search of answers.
In Puppet House, you will take on the role of Rick Evans, a photographer whose interest in haunted places has led him to Field Town, and the home of Peter Hill, an famed ventriloquist who has long since departed this life. Everyone in the town talked about the place, many of them even tried to get inside. Articles have been written about disappearances and screams coming from the walls of the abandoned house, and Rick aims to clear the air about these stories.
From the initial sounds of things, Puppet House will rely on the atmosphere of the old mansion as you wander about the place. However, you soon realize that you’re not the only one in the mansion. As you make your way through the place, solving the various puzzles and avoiding whatever it is that you sense, you’ll happen upon notes and articles that bring you closer to the truth about Peter Hill and his mansion. However, as you might expect, some secrets are best left hidden.
