[TV] WTF-Filled “Hemlock Grove” Trailer!

Hemlock Grove

The full trailer for the second season of the Emmy nominated Netflix original series, “Hemlock Grove,” is full of all sorts of WTFs.

The gory supernatural dramatic thriller from executive producer Eli Roth will premiere on Friday, July 11th at 12:01 AM PT.

Based on Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name, who is returning? All ten episodes of the one-hour series stars Famke Janssen (X-Men), Bill Skarsgård (“Simon & The Oaks”), Landon Liboiron (“Terra Nova”) and Dougray Scott (Mission Impossible II). The series also stars Madeline Brewer (“Orange is the New Black”), Madeleine Martin (“Californication”), Joel de la Fuente (“Law & Order: SVU”) and Tiio Horn (“18 to Life”).

Executive Producer Eli Roth says Netflix supported them taking the series in a “dangerous direction” stating that “they encouraged us to go even further – into a scarier, darker, and sexier place,” he explained. “We guarantee you won’t see anything like this anywhere else on television.

“Hemlock Grove” is a supernatural thriller which explores the strange happenings in a small Pennsylvania town. The show focuses on the unlikely friendship between the founding family’s young heir, Roman Godfrey (Skarsgård), and gypsy newcomer and outsider, Peter Rumancek (Liboiron). Each holds a monstrous secret that has been unleashed.

Season two continues with the town coming to grips with the shocking massacre incurred by one of its deadliest creatures. Roman and Peter are now faced with new responsibilities and the realities that come with adulthood. Roman’s relationship with his mother (Janssen) is all but dead as he struggles with his unwanted Upir birthright and the disappearance of his sister, Shelley (Martin). Peter moves in with Destiny (Horn) and is forced to get a job after his mother is sent away. Meanwhile, in search of a new life, newcomer Miranda Cates (Madeline Brewer), embarks on Hemlock Grove with an unknowingly profound effect on Peter and Roman. And Norman (Scott), still reeling from the loss of his family, must face the harsh truths that are uncovered about those he still loves.

The drama series was the first foray into television by internationally acclaimed horror master Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever). It was developed by Brian McGreevy & Lee Shipman and is executive produced by Eli Roth, Charles Eglee, Brian McGreevy & Lee Shipman, Eric Newman and Michael Connolly. “Hemlock Grove” is produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix.

That’s kind of an interesting choice to use Lorde’s ‘Biting Down’ for the trailer. I find it a funny coincidence that the songs meaning matches up with the theme of the trailer.

i could only make it up to ep. 6 in season 1 but became bored/frustrated that pretty much NOTHING happened up to that point in the show. after watching this trailer for season 2, i’m going to force myself to finish season 1 up!! season 2 looks awesome!

i did the exact same thing…not sure if its episode 6 but it was where we finally see someone turn into a wolf. but yeah i also gave up after that. not sure i wanna finish it despite that trailer! i think it’ll suffer the fate of Game of Thrones for me, a show i tried to watch but was bored to death by before the 1st season was done and now a few years later its huge and apparently lots happened but the memory of the tearful boredom of my viewing won’t let me give it another try. lol

Bouncy X, i think you and i are like the only 2 people alive who aren’t into GAME OF THRONES! lol. i gave it 3 eps in season 1 but i couldn’t get into it at all (even though i love many/most of the cast!).

        • Bouncy X

i gave up after the first 4 of season 1 so you’re better than i!!! lol i didnt consciously decide to stop though, i was planning on returning but i just never did which was a sign i wasn’t into i think!! but yeah i’m usually into these sorta shows so its weird seeing how huge its become and not be involved or “in the know”. but that said, it definitely has a great set of actors and the costume and set designs are worthy of big theatrical features so kuods to them on that end.

Am I the only one that finished the first season the first time?

Also, unrelated. I wish Netflix would pick up The River but that will probably never happen.
