[Trailer] Netflix’s “Altered Carbon” Looks Like a Treat for ‘Blade Runner’ Fans

Welcome to the world of ALTERED CARBON, where noBODY lives forever.

Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad) stars as Takeshi Kovacs inAltered Carbon,” a forthcoming Netflix series that looks like a trip into a cyberpunk future not unlike the one depicted in Blade Runner and this year’s sequel, Blade Runner 2049.

Learn more and check out the date announcement trailer below.

In the series, an adaptation of Richard K. Morgan’s novel…

“Altered Carbon is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. His mind was imprisoned, “on ice”, for centuries until Laurens Bancroft, an impossibly wealthy, long-lived man, offers Kovacs the chance to live again. In exchange, Kovacs has to solve a murder… that of Bancroft himself.”

The 10-episode first season premieres on February 2, 2018.

Netflix are killing it at the moment. They have become quite the force to be reckoned with.

right. Netflix has been putting out some solid shit lately and seems they are just warming up. I feel that since they don’t work with hollywood they can do what they want. My only thing i want to see happen now is see netflix pick up Neill Blomkamp and fully produce his OATS STUDIOS.

Great idea. Oats are teasing such great ideas that just need some love and money

And netflix be the great for that

Now that is a very interesting idea. I guess we can also now see the reason Christopher Nolan spouted off about Netflix killing the cinema. I can’t wait for Bright and now this, I am also watching the final season of Longmire thanks to Netflix and have Godless and then Dark to watch. They are a powerhouse of entertainment at the moment.

Welcome IDK how you’ll like it I truly loved it.

          • GunsOfNavarone

I looked it up after you recommended it and it looks right up my street although I haven’t seen a trailer. But it was giving me sort of Enemy Of The State vibes.

Ya it’s also very Red Dawnish too, and scary/intense because it can happen easily esp with how things are these days. IDK if you ever played that one mission in Call Of Duty MW2 but that mission when you are in that neighborhood and have to fight thats what this movie is like. Its all mostly done in one very long shot too which adds to it.

It kind of sounds like a mix of No Escape (film) and Colony (tv show).

          • zombie84_41

yeah it was. No Escape was another fav of mind. Colony I have to watch again.

  • Christopher Nickerson

Altered Carbon the book was great, the sequels were terrible

  • zombie84_41

Holy crap this looked awesome. Reminds me of a Black Mirror Ep mixed with Deus Ex. And Netflix has been killing it lately much better then what hollywood can come up with.

  • The_Gentleman

Fantastic book. Hope they do it justice.

I used to hate Netlfix as I thought (and still do) that their film selection is terrible, like bargain bin selection. But since they’ve pushed their own TV shows etc I cannot praise them enough. Hit after hit and of such quality. I feel spoilt for my money. Long live Netlfix originals.
