‘Cargo’ Trailer Promises a Scarier Zombie Film Than Initially Thought

Fresh off his role in IFC’s festival hit Ghost StoriesMartin Freeman stars in Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling’s zombie film Cargo as “…a father who, stranded in rural Australia in the aftermath of a violent pandemic and, infected himself, desperately seeks a new home for his infant child and a means to protect her from his own changing nature.

For his character, “Salvation may lie with an isolated Aboriginal tribe, but to gain access he must first earn the allegiance of a young Indigenous girl on a tragic quest of her own.

After it’s Tribeca Film Festival screening this coming April, Netflix will add to its streaming service on May 18, 2018, Bloody Disgusting learned. We also have a look at the film’s Australian trailer that shows it’s way more “zombie”-themed than initially thought as all of the previously released stills are gorgeous.

Anthony Hayes, Susie Porter, Caren Pistorius, Kris McQuade, Simone Landers, and David Gulpilil also star.

Cargo is produced by Kristina Ceyton, who produced 2014’s critically acclaimed psychological horror film The Babadook.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
