Kickstarter for Ghost-Hunting Sim ‘Haunted House Renovator’ on Now [Trailer]

Ever wanted to become a paranormal renovator, clearing out haunted mansions to restore them to their former glory? Image Power is looking to give you that opportunity with Haunted House Renovator. The team recently announced a Kickstarter to help get the necessary funds to “make the best game possible” for not only PC via Steam, but also consoles.

Touted as being both a relaxing and spooky, Haunted House Renovator has you as a ghost-hunting renovator, whose job it is to exorcise ghosts and other monsters from mansions, then restore said mansions to a livable state. It’s not as easy as it sounds, as applying new wallpaper won’t be enough to convince your customers that a house is safe. There’s also the issue of dealing with whatever is haunting the mansion.

You’ll deal not only with ghosts and monsters, but also curses and possessions, with each locale having their own unique challenges and mysteries. Once whatever is haunting the mansion has been booted, you’ve got to deal with cleanup. Using your creativity, you must decorate the mansion to make it inviting and liveable.

As mentioned, the Kickstarter is on now, with the minimal goal of the campaign is $10,000 CAD by April 5th. The new trailer for Haunted House Renovator offers a glimpse into some of the core mechanics of the game. Backers will also have access to a preview of the game’s demo, ahead of its public release. Because the game and the demo are still being worked on, Kickstarter supports will have a chance to influence the development with their feedback.

With the help of Kickstarter users, Image Power intends to prepare console versions of Haunted House Renovator, and in case the next stretch goals are met, add a new type of ghost, create a unique soundtrack for each location, and expand the in-game content for PC and console players alike. Backers will also have an opportunity to enrich the game with their own ideas, for instance by commissioning their painting that will be added to the game.

After the success of Jurassic World Evolution and its sequel, you knew that Frontier Developments would be itching to return to the well again. That appears to be the case, as the developer/publisher has announced that they’ve signed a deal with Universal for a third entry.

According to the press release, the third game in the series is scheduled for release between June 1, 2025 and May 31, 2026, with the game expected to be officially announced in the coming months. If you’re wondering about the date range, that would be because Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment are currently developing a new Jurassic World film that’s slated for release on July 2, 2025.

Jurassic World Evolution remains Frontier’s best-selling game to date since its release almost six years ago.

“We are delighted to reveal that we are developing a third Jurassic World game to extend our collaborative relationship with Universal Products & Experiences for our best-selling game franchise,” states Frontier Development Chief Executive Officer Jonny Watts. “Our Jurassic World Evolution game franchise has showcased great creative and technical expertise in CMS games and the strength of our select, develop, launch, and nurture strategy in the genre. I very much look forward to providing more information on our exciting plans for the franchise in the future.”

You can grab the first two entries in the series on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
